Two weeks ago we had a fire at our range. Fortunatly, except for making a 30 yd lane into a 120 yd lane it did not cause us any problems .Aweek ago 5 of us cut 3 new lanes and performed tgt maintence. We now have 15 lanes for 60 round matches. We also have room to put in another separate course. After some comments about the course being too easy, we made a real effort to place the proper size KZ at the proper distance. It worked. On our previous 40-46 shot matches the high score has been about 95% of the total. This time the high score was more like 85% of the total. Two standing/kneeling lanes were a part of that. Considering the cold (52 degrees), the wind, and the mud from 3 days of rain prior to Sat. our 19 shooter turnout was good. That included 2 new shooters, with 6 of our regulars absent for various reasions. Pictures should follow.

I might have to come watch one these matches. I shoot the monthly .22 F-class matches there. Do you pull in the same main gate? Or is it one of the gates on the east side.

Enter main gate and turn left past the f class range and follow the road to the Archery range. Several of us shoot both f class and field target.

Spools make life so much easier for set up and take down. Look on E Bay and Google search under kite equipment...they are worth every penny,,

Oh and yes it was a great day of Field Target Shooting. The photos tell the story. We really have a great bunch of folks shooting FT at the OKCGC and really enjoy seeing new faces at our matches. Come join us on the 3rd Saturday of the month, 9:00 AM.....

You guys have a great looking course, I like the fake deer and maybe a pointing dog placed on the lanes! I also see you place small pieces of plywood in front of the cinder blocks - is that to reduce ricochets or lessen damage to the spring clamps?

Those are plywood stands. We do not use cinder blocks.The animals are archery targets; our lanes double as 3d archery lanes.
