HW/Weihrauch Old HW50. Anyone have any info?

When I type the serial into the HW database it says 1993 (West Germany stamp suggests differently) but actually going through the list I'm thinking 60s but the fork to tube style doesn't match up? Maybe 70s? Can anyone verify that for me please

And then there is the safety.

Personally never seen an HW with a rear safety like that but doesn't mean one doesn't exist. That trigger? Definitely no Rekord but I've never seen a Perfekt trigger up close.
My first thought was wow, someone stuck an HW50 barrel on something else?? I'll 3rd the motion to ask @MDriskill and see what he says.

My original thought was to message him but then figured a public post for future records would be nice to have. Hopefully he sees it and can provide some insight.

That safety is throwing me too. My guess is a Perfect trigger as well but I've never seen one. I do know that the difference between the newer HW50S and HW50 were the triggers, Rekord vs Perfekt.

Found it

Looks like a re barreled HW30?
I'm starting to thing that 93 date may be accurate here.

This isn't my gun by the way. I'm just trying to help get some history for the owner. He managed to pick it up a week ago I think for 75 Euros. Can't argue with that price.

If memory serves from too much reading looking for info on the Beeman R8, which is supposed to be the same rifle as the original HW50, they also had 25mm comp tubes vs the newer version which have 26mm tubes. Serial number in your pic puts it in the year range they were made.
Just keep invoking @MDriskill and no doubt he'll happily educate us all...lol

1) Not necessarily . Can have either trigger.
2) The old 50 has a screw on back block.
HW50 was Weihrauch's first model

Until MD chimes in and tells us what is really is...is that an economy model only sold in the European market? Note the freimark symbol that's only for low power models, only used after about 1970?
Sorry I see you addressed this already. I started typing when I first seen the photo. I should have read the thread before responding.

Well...after all those kind words...y'all got me stumped! I've never seen one like it.

The Perfekt trigger and swinging safety match the hybrid HW / BSF guns that Marksman was selling here around 1989-1994 or so (their model 50 clone is the second one down in pic). But those had a scope rail, finger-groove stock, and different rear sight. Never had a Marksman so don't know their markings, but prolly not "Weihrauch" + F-in-pentagon.

My best guess is that specie and Mycapt65 nailed it: it's a German-market, "clean-out-the-parts-bins," economy HW 50 from the early 1990's.

As KWK noted, the key to ID'ing the original HW 50 architecture is the smaller tube (30mm OD) with thread-off rear receiver section; Weihrauch's founding model and made for nearly 50 years. From the 60's through 80's at least, these were sold with both the Perfekt trigger (called HW 50, HW 50M, or HW 50M1 at different times/places) and the Rekord (HW 50S); and with various upgrade stocks. ARH imported a raft of different variants back in the day.
