Daisy Old Noob Graycrait scores a 717!

I have to agree with @jkingrph , the 777 rear sight is a better tool than the IZH rear sight. However, the IZH comes with two rear sight blades with different size notches on the top and bottom so 4 different rear slot sizes. I have two different width front sight posts that are easy to change on the IZH so there are combinations that should work for most eyes. The 777 has an adjustable rear sight width which is pretty cool.
Yeah that's all nice but the with the 747, if you're a tad left you can just push on its left side a little with your thumb and be dead on! 😁 👍

Or go completely "off the rails:"

Hey, graycrait,
What are you using there?
What are you referring to? Bottom is a 717, top a 777. I was just goofing around with the optics and barrel clamps. The bottom clamp you can get from B&H photo and the top one is something I found on Amazon I think. I keep an optic on the 717 just for funzies, the two 777s and the 46M M I shoot "raw:)" I've never shot them outside the basement.

I do like to go to a red dot, it makes life easier for the grandkids.

Yes, plastic and I think they must get brittle with age. If one breaks, good luck finding a replacement. I have seen where some folks have made an adapter and use something like a LPA MPS1KB06
I busted out laughing when I read that.
I had no idea what that was?
The thought occurred to me that it was meant in fun?
So I asked Google,
Google filled me in Lol
👍
Fortunately the sights in my two are good, for what they are I haven't experienced a 777 yet.

I almost learned that the hard way a few years ago. I ordered either a 717 or 747 off ebay. Seller posted a picture of one that looked good, but when it came the rear sight had a large crack in it, not visible in the on line pictures. I honestly think he used the picture of another gun. Anyway I called him on it and ebay made him refund it.

Sorry to here that and glad ebay took care of it.
I would like to to find one like that as it should be well within my price range. 😁

Over the last few months I have picked up a 717 and two 747's all at reasonable prices, $90-$130 to my door. The prices are getting stupid expensive now IMHO. I'd love to have a 777, but there is no way I'll pay $350-$400 for it.

All you are buying is the sights and wood grips if you already have a 747. 👍
Well, theres also a better fit and finish.

At least one other thing, The cocking lever on the 777 is machined steel vs stamped aluminum on the lower grades. I know the trigger on the 777 is adjustable, not so on the 717 and simply cannot remember about the 747.

Yes, I'm aware of the differences, and I have held one, but never shot it. I'm not sure, about the triggers adjustability, but I don't need any adjusment on the 717 or 747 they are both good and identical in feel. 👍
