old posts in today's moments ago column

just went to answer a "moments ago post" , looked at the date and found it was over a year old and 3 pages long . I am getting the idea that a person types a title in and finds that a post already existed , so they just add to the old post instead of starting a new one . from now on i will look at the date first .

@beerthief I think many members have made similar mistakes. Newer members seem to have revived a lot of older threads. When they do sometimes others comment behind them. When it catches our attention if we don’t read the entire post (and check the date) before we respond, then we can find ourselves in similar situations. I also will comment on older posts before creating a new one on the same topic. Generally I’ll do this when searching for a solution to a question.

OH i like the feature , because i can sometimes find the answer without posting , just read the old post same subject.

Yup. If I think I have something valuable to contribute to a resurrected post I'll often PM the OP so as not to muck up the front page with old news, just in case the OP is still interested.
