Old versus New

Many people have zero interest in high BC, long range ammo. Most of our shots are taken inside 50-60yds so a projectile capable of shooting 200m relatively flat doesn't do us any good. Pellets for life! If I expect to need more power or to take a longer than normal shot, I switch to 22lr or 17hmr.
Exactly, I personally, though I can, have no desire to do the "long range" thing with my PCPs. It's not why I chose to use Airguns.

I don”t see pellets going away. Springers will always need them as will other non-PCP guns.
Even with PCP’s there are plenty of people who prefer pellets and won‘t make the change.
Anytime you get into shooting projectiles there will always be a contingent that wants faster, farther and flatter. Archery went through it and powder burners have been chasing that for a long time. Yet, there are still guys shooting muzzle loaders, black powder cartridge guns etc.
newer is not always better.
I admit to liking playing with my slug shooter but when I just want some unadulterated fun I grab my pellet shooter, so simple, so accurate, so reliable.
