My new omega tank started to leak last night. Air seems to be coming from the small (quarter size) tank pressure gauge that is threaded into the valve. I let all air out of tank then removed gauge. Suggestions on what to seal threads with? I hope it was just the threads leaking and not the gauge.

Keep a plug that can replace the gauge handy or a spare gauge (they are cheap) just for emergencies.

Pipe threads have an interference fit. Teflon tape or sealing paste mainly act as a lubricant. I would guess the pressure is held by the threads, not the tape/paste. Personally, I prefer paste. My knowledge...just a recent google search, not an expert.

Best thing to do is use a leak test solution on it while you have pressure in the tank. Mix up some water with a couple drops of dish detergent. Spray it on and you will see what exactly is leaking

I had the same problem, same gauge. Called AoA and got new gauge. More than likely, teflon will not fix the problem. It’s probably the actual gauge that gave.
