One hole group challenge - smallest group size

Hello Sheriff @rsfrid

Ask and ye shall receive, although not my best work just could not get my mojo working. The first shot target was my best for this time at 4.59mm. However all were still pretty good groups.

That's what I'm talking about! See, all along it was the pellets — not the shooter! 😳🙄😏

Greetings and Salutations @rsfrid

Shot a whole bunch of paper this morning with my Crosman 1701P Silhouette .177 cal. Tried 5 different pellets and on the last Target I had switched to the H&N Finale Match Heavy 8.18gr. Shot the best 4.5mm that I ever have and a near perfect round hole. I am adding a lot of photos to show the results.

Absolutely beautiful results! I'm loving all the H&N stuff - some more than others. You should be proud of those results! 😎
Hello Ross,

Man I cannot believe how close all 5 pellets hit the same spot. If you look close at the second photo you can see from the position of the crosshairs on the target at about the nine-o-clock area that more than one pellet was just off center. These 8.18gr pellets shoot good in all my pistols but they are crazy good in the Crosman. I wish the Bugbuster scope had a better reticle, a much "finer" reticle.

That's one of my complaints about the Bugbusters (both models) the other is only 3 clicks per moa. I'm always a half click away from perfect centering. If I use hold over/under by a teeny bit, then the group opens up. That's usually why my groups tend high or low. Anyways, you've got a keeper combo there. This exercise is good for determining what works.

Hello @rsfrid

Cool, sunny but windy and I just had to shoot my new Katran using H&N Baracuda FT 9.57gr Hand Sorted pellets. It looks like at least at 10-meters the rifle likes these pellets. I shot a practice card before I shot this one and all hits were within 5.0mm. The wind is gusting 25 to 30 from all directions so I just aimed dead center each shot and most pleased with getting a 4.59mm out of the bunch.

Ross I must agree with you about the H&N, they shoot pretty good (y) . Trying to shoot One Holes never gets boring ☺️

Another fine card! I hope this doesn't get boring. I also hope my new rifle (when I finally get it) likes them as well.
Are you kidding me, how can this get boring  . I have shot, what maybe 1,000 rounds, to get two good results. Do the math, chances are real good that I will run out of pellets before I ever shoot a near perfect round hole again :D:ROFLMAO::p🤯. You know we still have the 25-yard range 😮

I'll be doing 25 yds tomorrow indoors. I'm trying to see why my RAW HM1000x 25 cal isn't shooting as well as expected. I'm supposed to bring speed up on pellets to see if that's the issue. Right now it averages 875fps and needs to be 890-900. So there's that. I may bring a one-hole filled card home — or maybe not 😅🤣😂

My latest home made card… at some point I will shoot proper targets. Just love the perfect holes you get in 1\8” MDF.

Hello @L.Leon

Great shooting Leon. Boy it would be nice if we could get paper targets that left those "drilled" looking holes :D
