.177, five pellet group shot indoors at 20 yards January 16 2024. 0.191" edge to edge (4.8514 mm)

FX M3 .177 caliber tuned to 11.8 ft-lbs. using H&N 9.57 grain Baracuda FT 4.51 diameter round nose diabolos. Match Pro 1st focal plain scope.

Course of fire was off a bench using a bipod and shoulder with left hand holding the butt and controlling elevation and windage.

3 minute sequence- 2 minutes minimum between shots, 1 minute max to take the shot. Rifle had to be grounded - hands free for the 2 minutes between shots. Arming the rifle, acquiring the target, and placing the shot had to done during the 1 minute period.

Posting this notable group as it is a "personal best" for the range and shooting position, (my usual chair knee combo) at 33 measured yards...5 shots...I shot a better one hole in '18 but at 22 yards with a .25 Bobcat...this was with the same Mutant I posted Oc

t 11th at 25 yards. These type of groups don't happen very often considering how much I shoot from that position...maybe 4 or 5 in 15 years. My wife wasn't impressed so thought I'd share it with the group...lol

I had this 5-shot group measuring .325” edge-to-edge a few days ago.

What was really cool about this group:

It was shot outdoors with wind gusting to 25mph.

It was at a laser measured 40 yards distance.

I was testing a new .22 700mm barrel on my FX Crown Mk2. I swapped off the 500mm barrel and stuck on the 700. Touched NO adjustments.

Shot two initial 5-shot groups with 18.3g (speed was a very high 974fps)

Then switched to 20.83g JSB MRD Lights. The 1st 5 shots with the 20.83g was this .325” 40-yard group in windy conditions at 944fps.

Dang, when your 1st 5 shots with a new pellet through a barrel group like this… you gotta smile. Its even a bigger smile when you realize its only shots 11 through 15 down a brand new barrel.

Time to get to some scoring targets…

5 shots each , no warm up. I just hung the target at 10 yds and went to it. My caliper is inch so I did the conversion to mm.
FWB 300-su , Diopter( 1.25mm) Globe(3.5mm) 1" dot target. Rifle has about 400 shots through a full fresh rebuild.

Very, very nice. It would be interesting to see about 15 one hole groups on same card. Then you could brag on consistency of your rifle. I keep hearing folks saying "anyone can get a teeny group once in a while cherry picking". With 15 or more similar groups, that removes that comment. Just a thought. Nice groups though.

I have done 10 and 15 shot groups before the rebuild with excellent results.
I was sticking to some of the requirements of this particular layout. I'd like to finish the tin of 500 and keep an eye on it to see if the new springs "settle in" as they say.
So far after 2-300 they may have already settled in. I will give it a try later tonight and see how it looks.
