This poor rifle sense built near 5 years ago has been sitting in a case under the bed unloved
Built as a High Power .30 cal with a Balanced valve, LW hammer & SSG using a 700mm FX liner it is a real hammer !! that as such idled along at 85 fpe and topped out near 120 fpe.
Having acquired the Skout Epoch 2 years ago also in .30 cal, certainly don't need two big bores !!!
So starting yesterday started the caliber conversion putting in its place the .177 cal 24" LW 12g no choke that was previously used in the JSAR Raptor. ( It now a high power .25 cal )
Fitting barrel into the JSAR manufactured side lever M-rod spec breech was super straight forward only requiring a bit of shroud extension. Barrel is stretch tensioned as configured and super stiff.
Probe also plug & play within the JSAR breech. Switch out of transfer tube to a smaller spec tapered one we get the valve operating Snappy being just ridiculously quiet while making @ 35 fpe !! ( 15 grain NSA or JSB 16 beast at @ 1030 fps )
With the Belding ground squirrel season about to ramp up ... YES we get to use this rifle and give it the love so deserved
