I have / have had all the modern Dianas but the 460 Mag. It will be my next gun. It is close to the ultimate hunting springer, having enough power for any springer situation while also having superb accuracy, while being lighter than the TX's, the 54's, and the 97's. It is in a different league performance-wise than the ever-present HW95 etc. In my personal experience, there are springer scenarios where 20 - 24 fpe is put to very good use, and 15 fpe would have fallen short. It gives leeway as to shot angles / placement, taking down even larger small game with foolproof, trench-tested chest hits out to 60 yards. It works just as well on squirrels at 20 yards.
The above discussion seems to center in the negatives, which no gun is devoid of. My HW95 broke down quickly off new etc. Go watch some 100 yard+ springer shot sequences on Youtube, a large portion of which have been made with the 460 Mag.
I wouldn't consider the 460 Mag in other than .22 cal. Based on the numerous caliber switches I've done, the high-swept volume gun simply performs better in .22, from muzzle energy to recoil and noise. But the pickings are slim these days. The 460's seem to never come up for sale in the second-hand market here, unlike all the other Dianas and Weihrauchs. They have been available new here (and repeatedly sold out) for close to 20 years, so that tells me something.
