Indeed, no use crying over the spilled milk. The BSA R10 (new) typically runs at a lower price than FX etc, yet the quality is on par IMHO. Plus the wooden stocks are in a totally different class. The accuracy is comparable as well. BSA barrels are very hard to beat, except potentially if you plan to shoot slugs -- in that case you should look into the special FX slug liners, an altogether different business, or into some of the -- MUCH less refined -- Hatsans.
An interesting little detail: even the cheaper BSA model, the Gamo Coyote, has the excellent BSA barrel AND the same hollow pellet probe as the more expensive FX -- another accuracy refinement because it causes the air push to come from straight behind the pellet. Come to think, you may wish to check out the Coyote user reviews on Pyramydair (unless you are set on a side levered bottle gun).
