Opinions on traditional CO2 pellet rifles like Beeman QB78

Most reports say they're good rifles, they're copies of the Crosman 160, iirc. For a plinker, the Crosman 1077 is great.

I have a Benjamin Wildfire that came to me in pieces, that I repaired and changed over to bulk fill co2.
Also did all the mods I found on YT. It had failed as HPA as it was still using co2 valve and much heavier hammer spring.JMHO
Works like a charm now.

I’ve had a few of them and while they weren’t bad guns, I was never particularly impressed by them either. I had a Crosman 2260 at one point though that I built up with a bulk fill and aftermarket valve and that was a really nice gun for kids and people of small stature. I built it for my wife, who is under 5’, with an extra short length of pull. It was more accurate than the QB’s I have owned, much lighter and had a shorter breech.

That gun ended up getting stolen and I doubt that the thief ever understood how to fill a bulk CO2 gun so it likely just ended up getting thrown away.
