when I place orders for say a case they always same lot , I usually buy a case at a time then wash dry lube and sort this way when I grab tine all same and have favorite lube on them and no bent skirts or heavy and light ones ,
One thing about buying swaged slugs they all identical .
I ordered 12 tins of AA 10.3's from one of the vendors we all know and use regularly. I got 9 tins of one lot / die / date code and 3 tins of another. I called the vendor and asked if this was standard operating procedure and he said 'yes it is'. I explained that I was a competitive shooter and asked that if I called in my order next time could I get pellets that were all the same lot code since I didn't want to end up testing multiple date codes to make sure they shoot well in my gun. At this point I got the 3 minute dissertation on how they process 1800 orders a day and there is no way they can take the time to look at date codes on pellets to be sure I get what I want because that would hold up my order and every order after mine and would cause total chaos. I thanked him nicely told him to have a good day and that was that.
AA pellets come 9 tins to a sleeve so I got 9 tins of the same lot, but it is too much trouble for someone to look at the lot code on the other 3 tins to make sure they match the label on the sleeve for the other 9. Lesson learned. The slightly less than $500 I have spent at that vendor over the past 6 months will go to a different vendor that is more interested in my business. Lots of folks sell pellets.
They might add it as a service to those ordering so many pellets. They could have 12 tins of the same lot number packaged up & sell them that way. They would need a lot of people requesting this and they might do it. Heck they could charge a small premium. You might trying purchasing from a small dealer who can still offer more personal service.
Yes, next time I will give Trenier Outdoors a call. I'm sure they will be happy to spend the extra 30 seconds to be sure the $135 worth of pellets I buy are all the same lot!
