The 1974 version with the flared pistol grip ...my favorite! My prize possession after owning A LOT of 300s is my Mint Tyrolean ,one of the last built.....not in the box though....

The flared grip cap is mounted backwards in the pics just above. The flared side goes under your shooting hand (right one, in this case) of course.
You'd get gigged for taking one of these to a match today - they were later banned, for providing an "illegal" degree of support. Even the current hyper-adjustable skeleton stocks still can't use anything similar.
