Orion The Iguana Hunter BRK Ghost Magazine

Well USPS was a day late.....again... but the mags are here from Orion.

I just got them out of the package and shot a full magazine through the Orion mag and one of the Carm mags. The main body of the mags are both about the same size, but the Orion does extend out a little bit more with the "tail" to open the lid. The finish on the Orion mags are better than the carm in my opinion. I really do like the look of the carbon fiber on the back of the magazine. The surface is nice and smooth compared to the Carm magazine. The Carm magazine isn't rough per say but the finish isn't as smooth as the Orion mag.

Both magazines function flawlessly and are very smooth.
The Orion magazine will hold 10 rounds in the 22 flavor.
The Carm magazine will hold 11 rounds in the 22 flavor.

The loading of the magazines are completely different. The Orion magazine you will load much like an FX magazine. You remove the lid, rotate the inner body and then load your first round. After that the inner body will stay put and you are able to load the rest of your rounds. The Carm is a single pellet load then rotate until you have your 11 shots loaded.

I am planning on shooting slugs through this Ghost, and will see what the max length of slugs you are able to load into both rifles. I have to get my Corbin press set back up and get some slugs swaged and I will report back with that information as well.

Some quick pictures of the Carm Magazine on the top and the Orion on the bottom. Both front and back of both mags. I did put the stock magazine for the rifle in there a well so you are able to see the sizes of all them.

Here are a few pictures of what the magazines look like from either side of the rifle. The fit of the Orion mags are very tight, I am assuming they will loosen a little once they are used more. The little "flag" on the Orion mag does hit me in the face when the magazine is extending out the left side of the rifle. But that is an easy fix to just insert the magazine from the right side. This is one point where the Carm mag does better with its rounded top, but not a negative towards Orions magazine. Just insert from the other side and you are good to go.

The Orion magazine doesn't have the little ball detent that the stock or the Carm magazine have. But the Orion does "click" into the rifle quite securely and there is no wobble or movement when in the rifle.

Like I said, I did shoot a full mag through both magazines. Half way through each of them I did flip the magazine and loaded it from the other side. Both magazines were smooth and I saw zero movement of the pellets in the target. Now I was only shooting around 10 yards in my house, but will be able to get out further here in the next week or so.

Over all both magazines are nice and will serve their purpose well. Orion being as he is here state side is a HUGE plus for me personally. The Carm mags the shipping takes a little over a week to get to my house here in the central part of the US. So not a huge deal but it does take around twice as long to get the item from Carm than it did from Orion in Flordia.

If you are looking for a little "Bling" to add on your rifle then I would go with the Orion. They look great and they are extremely smooth in operation. If you want a more "stock looking" magazine then go with the Carm. But personally if Orion has mags for guns that I have, I will be looking on his site and grabbing some more when I need them.

Any questions just ask guys!

For Slugs (when the time comes) if more internal space is needed I can create a different variant with more depth! Similar to what I've done with the Panthera magazine, this magazine is really deep, but for pellets I'm not leaving too much internal space.

I'm glad you got them, the mail is a mess these days, I have a package was sent to me from Georgia and last time I check the package was in North Caroline, no idea how it went north instead of south...

Good feedback, the magazine is relatively new so, I can "listen" and if there are some ideas I can always apply them to the design, this stuff is tiny, very challenging to get it "right"

Once again, thanks for taking the time and write this! Really appreciate it!

Are these the same mags for the delta wolf? The oem mags look very similar.

Edit : nvm I went on Orions site and answered my own question. Awesome! My buddy was looking to get more mags for his new delta wolf

I just checked thr slug question...

Stock mag .. 40 grain slugs will function
Carm mag .. 40 grain WILL NOT function
Orion mag .. 40 grain will function

So if you want the weight, in 22 caliber at least, you can go up to 40 grain easily. There is a little room to spare when testing with the Javelin gen 2 40 grain 218 slugs.
