Outside Workbench & Lean To

Tired of the sawdust & metal shavings in shop. Plus I can see better outside. The last two days , between meeting customers , & running to supply store. I forgot how hard it was to dig a hole by hand. I could of had my employees to do it for me, but figure I need the exercise Made the bench 30 inches by 10 ft. 6x6 legs. I will put a smooth top on table eventually but will let the wood dry some.

me neither .. the red looks like where you assasinated a medium sized animal lol ... thats some nice lumber bet it cost you a pretty penny .. oh i get it now ..

Yeah, stuff is high. For all the material, including screws & hardware for table & 10 x 16 ft lean too, excluding the roof sheeting was 1000.00. Stuff is high now. At least we can get material again.

Looking good! Hopefully you won't have condensation rusting your tools. The soil at my place is sandy with a little clay-you can dig a ditch or hole easily in the wet season, but once it dries up it's pick and shovel time.

Our soild is hard brown shale & hard clay. Yeah, rust is something I will have to do battle with. Probably won;t use it much in winter & can store them in one of my other shops.

Been busy meeting customers, but got a couple hours in on it , hope to get the purlings on next week.

Cost more than my first 6 cars. My first car was a 52 chev pick up 350.00, second 66 chev pickup 650.00. third was a 66 pontiac , 500.00. the the best one of all can;t remember the year, a dodge dart with a slant 6 cost 75.00. that thing was like a tank. Not a good time to buy building materials for sure. We buy a lot of 6 inch steel pipe, went up 5 bucks a foot more in the last few months. Cold roll steel went from something like 450 a ton, to 1500.. But not too worried, i have seen pipe get high many times it always comes back down. Building materials will fall too.
