P17-15yards

Got out to sling some lead....windy...uuugh...
...trying to tape a target...
I realized you can use your windshield wiper as an extra hand🤟
Finally toted the p17 along with me today and got to see what she can actually do.( only ever shot it under 10 yards.
Using a weaver red dot from @Rob_in_NC 🎩🤙
Finally figured out how to get it dialed in better😅
Thought the battery died but the sun had gotten to where it was reflecting inside my dot lens...
PSA: always carry duct tape.
I made a little sun shade for it out of some tape scraps🤷‍♂️
Looked funny but it functioned flawlessly and I had a blast!🤪🤙
I even held over and hit my 50yard backstop🤯
P17 fun continues!

Ive been shooting a springer pistol a lot lately, and I dont think ive ever learned so much aboit basic shooting mechanics.

That looks fun :)
It is! I always try to take a pistol along for a break on whatever else I'm doing. I get distracted alot so it helps to have an option to switch to.

projectile launching is like meditation for me.
I TOTALLY agree! (y) Like therapy too! Every time my computer does something stupid, I'm in the back blowing through some pellets for a few minutes, and then back to the grind "good as new".

Just wondering what pellets your P17 likes. My son has one, but he didn't really get the point when we were trying to test pellets in it as he kept trying to adjust his point of aim to match the last hole. He shoots mostly the Daisy Pointed that you can get at Wal-Mart because he buys them himself and they are cheap, but I am just wondering if there may be something better...like CPHP or something. Thanks for the info!

Always/anytime🤙
My last test was with the Excite Econ 2s
It loves wadcutters🤷‍♂️
Only thing it didn't like was the oh what were they....the black coated pellets. Heavy cat somethings. Literally got stuck in the barrel. Those pellets are designed wayyy to wide for most of my slingers. I'm gunna delve into what it likes more here to come bc it packs in so easy with the gear I usually tote to go sling lead🤪🤙

Thanks for the input, @iAMzehTOASTY1 !

We have had a few different pellets get stuck in the barrel of that one. I agree, it seems to be pretty sensitive to head diameter, and/or lead-alloy composition. I think that gun has had more stuck pellets than anything else in my collection, and that includes CO2 powered replicas...but I always stop shooting them early when the powerlette starts to "sag". I'd rather blow the powerlette early than get a pellet stuck...but I digress😊

So, I didn't see that you mentioned (and if you did, forgive me as I am a couple beers in 🥴), are you using a rest of any kind, or just shooting standing?...kneeling?...prone? Just wondering

I think that I am going to have to do the pellet testing myself someday while my son is at school using an Armageddon Gear bag to get to the bottom of this...skipping the Gamo Silent Cats...if that is the one you were referring to, but I believe that you can tell because it was tough to get into the breech. I believe that the riffling is pretty aggressive on that gun in grooves and twist rate. I'd like to know the numbers.

The P17 is a fun little gun for sure. My son loves it and brags on his plinking prowess to his buddies all the time...and I sneak it out every now and again 🤫
