P70 Field Target...to sell question

I've had this P70 for years. In excellent shape, has an in barrel suppressor so shot in basement during winter. With on going back problems will be selling. A fair price to sell? I used a palm rest last time I shot it,to help with the back issues, and three operations ...time to sell at 71 years old !. The grip got cracked before I bought it and whomever did A good job in fixing.Have had no problem .Does have an after market AZ air tube with quick fill nipple. That i addedThankyou

This gun shoots 7.9 gr pellet @ 600 fps
8.44@570 fps

As far as value I’m not sure.

I paid $1,100 for what I was told was an AZ FT version maybe ten years ago. Turned out to not be an AZ gun but a bubba built. Took lots of time and $$$ with AZ to make it right. Same stock as yours.

A buddy just bought a P70JR same vintage as yours for $500 with a nice Leopold scope. It is with me to try and get it back to shooting. Both cylinders blew seals and they are a crap shoot to rebuild. Aluminum tube and aluminum plugs the factory put together so tight disassembly is almost a guarantee destruction.

Do you know if it is still shooting factory power? AZ would do a second plenum block to up the power. Others tuners would hog out what they could to increase the volume. That is why the JR I mention above has had done.

Has the loading gate been cut down?

Bad picture of mine.

Loading gate cut down.no scope base slot on barrel ala AZ. 8 grainers at 685 consistant.Mount double rings behind gate for scope.
AZ has worked on all my past guns other than this one,he's about 4 hours drive from me. Have reached out to him but he's building a house and being A shadow. All I will say. I will put it up for $800.00.I think it is worth the price. Another $400 for AZ tune.Hell of a gun for that investment.I thank you for your time.Pete in Montana I built the inbarrel suppressor, they work excellent......

10 to 15 years ago when i first started shooting FT at state GP's etc there were a few P70 FT conversions in use. Those who had the successful ones were highly modified having aftermarket plenum/valve bodies that allowed getting power up in the 17-18 fpe range. These plenum bodies also allowed BOTH scope rings to stay on the receiver dovetail and not having one scope mount out on the barrel dovetail.
With these aftermarket parts no longer made and having resealed a few plenum modified P70's years ago realizing what a nice CNC part they were, fabrication as a home job is not practical what so ever.

A otherwise stock P70 is a fine 10M rig and if wanting for >12 fpe WFTF work likely doable with mods. An Open or Hunter class >20 fpe rig .... NOPE !!!
