I have been getting daily phone calls and emails from people near and far that are excited to attend the Pacific Airgun Expo on March 25/26 in Placerville, California, and a lot of people have pre-paid for their entry. Also, I’m going to be running a more significant newspaper ad than we did two years ago. Based on the great results of the small ad in 2015 I’m sure it will pay off in a large number of attendees.
As it stands currently, all those attendees will only have about a dozen vendors to spend their money with. Those vendors who have committed to come are poised to make a killing!
Some of the vendors that have signed up to come include Wicked Air Rifles, DGS Airguns, Air Hog, American Air Arms, Air Tanks Plus, and Northwest Airguns to name a few. Additionally, many large collections will be displayed by other vendors that have signed up. Air Hog and Trenier Outdoors have made very generous donations of product in support of the show. Thank you!
At previous shows I rented a table even though I only had a few things to sell. It paid for my trip and gave me a spot to sit and talk my favorite hobby with everyone that stopped by. It also got me in early and so had first chance at the deals. You don't have to be a big time vendor to make having a table space worth your while.
Special Meeting: Saturday evening after the show the vendors will be gathering at the Placerville Brewing Company across the street. At this meeting we will have a focused session on trends we are observing in the airgun industry and how we as vendors and manufacturers can work together to support our businesses and help grow the airgun market. I highly encourage any vendors, collectors, or manufacturers that have been on the fence about coming to the show to rent a table and come to this meeting to give your input. The airgun industry is in a state of rapid growth and change. By working together and developing strategic partnerships we can be more successful in our individual businesses and in growing our sport.
You vendors and manufacturers are the visionaries of the airgun marketplace. You collectors have a sense of what people want and where we should be going. This meeting will be a chance for us to collaborate on how we can best help each other succeed in the next few years.
Deadline: If you want a table, don’t delay in making your commitment. By midday Pacific time this Monday, March 13, I will be making a decision to move us to a smaller building if we don’t have enough vendors to make the big hall look full. At that point you may be left out if you later decide to come, as there will be a limit to how many tables we can support in the smaller building.
Vendors may or may not make a lot of sales at the show itself, but the rewards of attending go far past the show. The PAE is most paramountly an opportunity for us to increase market awareness of our sport, our individual businesses, and build new relationships that will help all of us be more successful. Don't think in terms of "will I make enough money at the show for it to be worthwhile". The Pacific Airgun Expo is the germ of what could become the biggest collaborating opportunity we have in support of our sport and the growth of our marketplace. Help spread the word to vendors you know so they can have a voice in this conversation, and make your table reservation by Monday midday Pacific time at http://www.pacificairgunexpo.com
