Paintball tanks as PCP fill tanks?

I have a bunch of paintball tanks sitting around that I’d be interested in converting to be able to fill PCP rifles. I know the regulators are too low pressure on the paintball tanks, but I can easily remove those regulators if there is a different fitting I can install to use them as fill tanks.

I have a few 68ci tanks and a couple 80-90ci tanks that should get me a fill or two when out in the field.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Make sure to check the tank pressure rating before you start converting them.

You need regulators on the tanks that will allow high pressure out other wise you can only fill to the 500-800 psi that the paintball tank regulator outputs. It will just equal out once your gun tank matches your paintball tank reg. If you can find a fill adaptor that has no regulation, then you will get a higher first fill and whatever air is left in the paintball tank will just keep balancing with air in the gun.

This is great info. Thank you for the info.

I use one of the Benjamin small tanks, 90cu.in I think. Filled to 4500psi and filling a 3000ish psi tube gun, it gets more than "a fill or two". I would say several fills, with more partial fills. Quick to refill is another positive of the "Guppy" size tanks.

The Ninja system I remember was regulated to a 3k psi fill. It appears that one^ will fill to any pressure. Yeah, that's a no brainer since you already have the PB tanks.
