Does anyone know if the shroud on the panthera and panthera compact are used for sound moderation ?
I understand the over barrel plenum and the different sizes /powers of them ,what I'm wanting to know is there an air stripper towards the muzzle that vents into the shroud for sound moderation.i have looked at the parts diagram for the panthera on fx website but can't really tell if the end cap has the cutouts in it like the maverick and wildcat. They are but the devil is in the details. The shroud is part plenum and part “moderator” and the ratio varies by model. For example, the 600 and 700 have the same plenum, so the 700 has more “moderator” component. The 500 has a smaller plenum and “moderator” component similar to the 700. Then more variability (which someone else would have to explain) with the Hunter compacts.
No, there is not a moderator built into the shroud on a production panthera.I understand the over barrel plenum and the different sizes /powers of them ,what I'm wanting to know is there an air stripper towards the muzzle that vents into the shroud for sound moderation.i have looked at the parts diagram for the panthera on fx website but can't really tell if the end cap has the cutouts in it like the maverick and wildcat.
Yes there IS an air stripper at the end of the barrel that vents into the shroud, having a sound moderating effect.I understand the over barrel plenum and the different sizes /powers of them ,what I'm wanting to know is there an air stripper towards the muzzle that vents into the shroud for sound moderation.i have looked at the parts diagram for the panthera on fx website but can't really tell if the end cap has the cutouts in it like the maverick and wildcat.
