I think you will be fine with the older type unit “v” as the price is hard to pass on. If your using it for extended periods of time then yes it could get on your nerves but if not it wont be as much of a problem. I jumped on one as I always wanted the 940 and 12mm and it shipped next day not the 1-3weeks as advertised so that is great.
