Parts availability by brand

Let me start by saying I have relative brand inexperience (FX, snowpeak, Hatsan, Air Venturi) and also limited after sale parts needs (orig hammer for FX and would have liked an extra poppet for my original avenger while I owned it but wasn’t avail during ownership period).

That out of the way, a couple of posts regarding parts availability I’ve seen lately had me thinking.

What brands can you contact after sale and order parts for? Let’s say for example you need a new cocking linkage arm for brand “X” pcp, what brands can you get after sale OE parts for?

I know for me this has been a concern when looking at investing a large amount of money on any of the Eastern European brands, example Taipan.

Looking for actual experience here, not second or third hand info.

What say ye?
 
My personal

Air Arms. Pyramid Air stocks wide range of parts for the various models and lists them on there website.

Feinwerkbau. One thing I love about FWB is their support for older, discontinued airguns. Have ordered internal parts for Mod 2 pistol and 603 rifle through https://targets.ca/. Give Nick the part number and he will order directly from Feinwerkbau.

Crosman - You can order most parts directly from the company. It helps to already identify the part number from an exploded diagram. Availability is pretty decent, although you must speak to them over the phone to order parts. In my experience their pricing is great.

Huben - New England Airguns and the Huben Shop (Spain) stock spare and aftermarket Huben parts on their sites. Of the two NEAG is going to have more reasonable prices. I believe that you can contact Kelly at Kraz Cool Air Guns for spare parts or possibly have them shipped with your order. I haven’t purchased parts from him.

To do this right ... IMO would require an alphabetical A to Z of modern brands the vast majority of us are using and purchasing.

SUCH AS:

Air Arms .... YES, tho somewhat limited
American Air Arms, YES tho factory direct
*Artemis ( AKA Snow Peak ) Some maintenance pieces, tho mostly NO
BENJAMIN / Crosman YES, tho with recent news, perhaps not for much longer ?
DAYSTATE, Only threw AOA as the sole Importer, some stuff Yes, a lot special order from the UK

And so on....

for us old timers we got our Feinwerkbau parts direct from the factory and they were cheap service was great
Crosman and Daisy will sell you what you want
Diana parts NO Gamo parts NO you have to go to the UK or Spain
All Snowpeak products under whosevers name parts are impossible to find and yes there are some here and there and mostly is Canada
Weihrauch parts are easy to find in the UK here you tell me
many off brands that Umarex handles you will be SOL again you go to the UK
hard to find parts in Germany you go to Waffencenter Gotha and then talk to Enrico and suffer the German mailing system and the absurd prices

my opinion

the availability of part in the states suck they do a 200% better job in the UK
but there are so many old guns with hardly any parts and new gun with none at all so course JG has many of what we need but they do not give them away

I'm hoping that UTAH and/or CAPE FEAR can pick up the ball where FX-USA had it.
Their parts service was exquisite
And so far, UTAH is doing pretty well with it.

My understanding (correct me please) is that the FX-USA parts inventory is still in legal limbo.
Seeing it end up in CAPE FEAR's or UTAH's hands would be sweet

I suggest steering clear of Edgun West. Brian is a disreputable dealer. I would not purchase an o-ring from him.

I understand some people have not had favorable experiences with Edgun West. I've been on the forums long enough to read through the threads and customer's experiences, good or bad. I've been dealing with Brian at Edgun West for about 6 years. I emailed them about a couple months ago for a cocking handle spring that broke on my R5M. He didn't have the part available, so I ordered it from Edgun Spain, received it, and moved on. Though I paid a little more for shipping, I needed the part. The day that Edgun West treats me badly, I'll let it be known.

I ditched my Edgun for a loss and swore off the brand. There are too many other excellent manufacturers and rifles available.

I suggest Daystate, they have a very good reputation and excellent customer service. My Taipan has been bullet proof and accurate to a fault. I am enjoying my new Ghost, another excellent rifle.
