Brocock/BRK Pathfinder XR Revisited…

Ever since the arrival of my Ghost XR Carbine the Pathfinder XR has been somewhat neglected. The Atomics are locked in, but the Pathfinders’ future seemed in doubt. With the huge Aztec Emerald 6-24x-50 IR SF FFP atop. She is heavy and the Ghost easily duplicates its capabilities. Today I mounted my little WHT 3-12x FFP SF IR compact scope on the Pathfinder. This lightened her up right away, lighter than the Ghost with G1 Athlon Helos 6-24x-50 IR SF FFP atop. After sighting in at 25 yards, I started murdering my favorite targets. Sidewalk chalk cut down to chipmunks head size. The hits at 25, 30, 40 and 50 yards reminded me of why I’m keeping the Pathfinder in the stable.

@Steveguy, love the look of your OD Pathfinder XR… Good choice of PCP on your part…🙏
Thank you! The truth of the matter is it probably would not be here today, had it not been for all of your real world info and your great feedbck on this particular model. We’re gonna watch it for leaks over the next several days before I even probably go shoot it but my first impressions I’ll give you two of them one positive and one negative.. first the positive one is I think I have just found a weapon that I’m gonna be able to shoot off hand fairly well. The negative one is the pistol grip needs replaced. It feels cheap and plastic but it’s also light so there’s that. Lol

As the gun sits pictured, the scope will probably stay right where it’s at, but if I extend the butt stock for more length of pool, then the scope needs to come back on the rail some more, but I may be able to shoot the weapon about like it is I think we’ll just have to see, but the scope cant stay where it os without mag interference looks like, which to be honest, I think I’m gonna extend the length of pole and move the scope back anyway

You might consider posting up your own thread… This way your thoughts will prevail on what you think of the platform going forward. I haven’t given much thought on how the grip feels to me. But understand your thoughts on the matter.. Though it is freezing here in NYS, I had to take 10 shots with my Pathfinder today after work. Am sincerely, really digging the little rig…

Point well taken,thanks.

One can remove weight as I did with mine.
With a currently, 8" long barrel... Barrel trimming, removes a good bit of weight. The shroud trimming, not so much, but it is...some.
Plus I had to trim some diameter off of the Huma Mod30 muffler, so a little more heft removal there.
And it doesn't have a huge (heavy) scope / sight.
