N/A Pawn Shop Find

Found this Winchester Model 435 in .177 at a pawnshop today. Missing the front and rear sight but mechanically it’s sound.

Congrats - a super classic! The D35 is a great mid-power gun; accurate, good handling and balance, fine trigger, fun to shoot.

Diana has used the same front tunnel sight for a zillion years, easy enuff to find. The rears are out there, too, or the gun would be great with a peep sight. The scope rail is a fairly lightweight spot-welded thing, be careful with a big scope or heavy-duty mounts.

Various sights that will on your Diana 35:

FRONT
1. Diana plain tunnel with fixed pointed post
2. Diana interchangeable-insert tunnel (OEM on your 35). The inserts for these are exactly the same as used on old Walther and FWB target guns, believe it or not.
3. An old Anschutz. Fits the same grooves. Slightly bigger tunnel, and different inserts. Tons of accessories made for these.

REAR
1. Diana plastic/metal click adjusting sight.
2. Diana all-metal click-adjusting sight (OEM on your 35).
3. A newer Diana sight (from a model 34?) - but here mounted on a 35.

A nifty feature on the older rear sights is the rotating plate with four different notch shapes, letting you customize the sight picture to fit the front element. Diana air rifles have some of the very best open sights ever fitted to anything IMHO.
