If you’re hoping they will apply that rule in a thoughtful consistent way you’re hoping for too much. PayPal will generally screw the seller and close the case. Distinctions like the difference between a firearm and airgun and likely to be ignored.
I have yet to have an issue as a buyer, or a seller, and have had trouble as both. Guy tried to to screw me on a Canon 1Ds camera about 7years ago, said he never received it, it took about 30 days, and appeal but got my money back. I had proof it was sent and insured. I've been saved twice as a buyer over the past 15 years.

Both times were because of my trusting very low feedback or new buyers. ALWAY's check feedback! I also require others to contact me by phone before selling or buying anything over 100 dollars. If they wont, its a red flag, why? But Im old school, when folks bought face to face and a handshake was your bond. nothing beets eye to eye. for everything else,,,,,, there's paypal!

Just bought a liner here using F&F, no problem.
It's the payee who assumes the risk. Say for example, a buyer is a lowlife drug addict who stole his grandmothers card and denies denies denies that they did anything. I took a 778 dollar loss exactly that way. However, guy was local and his avatar matched his social media profile pic. And there were MANY people willing to give up the ghost.... and very quickly found out "N**** Newman( person who filed the fraud claim) was his grandmather and I contacted her. She very quickly volunteered that she suspected her grandson of the charge but he told her it must be "this guy that RIPPED ME OFF". HOWEVER I provided the messages, the name and address, the shipping receipts, the verified signature on delivery and she very graciously went to her bank with me to give them the information proving I didn't rob her, in response her bank canceled the dispute with PayPal who then reimbursed me.

What does that mean?
Political content removed.****

That being said, I only deal with reputable people here and prefer F&F both as seller and buyer just to keep the real thieves out of our pockets. If the seller or buyer prefers to use G&S, then I will go that route because we still(for now) have that freedom to choose. I will pay what I have to when the tax man says so. Not before I find every last little deduction I can.

He's meaning he'd rather you have money stolen from you by the gubberment for your private transaction, and apparently condones them taking your money. Because we all know they spend our tax money on the citizens and this country. They'd never line their pockets or send it off to other countries just to weaken us and our dollar.... and then filter it back into their pockets.

FUKKUM.
That is a very demented theory, since the "gubberment" has nothing in it. Some people will twist anything to justify doing others wrong! Sorry but I'll gladly pay a few pennies for insurance. But I just don't want judged as a thief, some are fine with it. But make no mistake, we will be judged someday, and that's a good thing.

But believe me, we will all be judged, and no one is free from that, including me.

But those that abuse anything, bare more cost on those that don't.

Slamming people for their ethics and not even knowing them, or saying someone is demented for having a different view than yours... and you think you won't be judged for that too?

Remember when you point a finger, you have 3 pointing back at you.
