Mods please remove if I am violating any rules. With that said:

I use PayPal for convenience in making retail purchases, I will not do family and friends, and I have no bank account linked to my PP account, only a CC. With that said has anyone had these problems using PP as I do? I struggle with using it to buy things like stocks or pistol grips because of their "rules" but wonder if that is really a problem. Been using it for many years and I have not had a bad experience.

This has probably been beaten to death already.

i use pay-pal all the time and love it.
no differant then a C.C. somebody has to pay the fees. i sometimes make a judgement call if it someone that has made lots of sale with no issue i might take a chance on F&F otherwise i just add on the % or hagle a bit? if some one wants to sale they can price it with paypal in mind.
more then once i have wlaked away from something i want over the F&F issue.

If you don't have a bank account linked, then when you pay F&F and you CC instead (or PP line of credit) then you have to pay a transaction fee (around 3%). With a bank account there are no fees. It does not make sense to pay PP fees for F&F transactions because there is no purchase protection. But if you are ok with paying the fees for PPFF payment than you should be fine and be able to pay for anything PPFF or PPGS.

I have used it a long time with no issues. With that said if you are using it with the mindset you are protected when buying anything within this hobby or the firearms hobby just realize you may not be protected. If PayPal determines you violated their rules they may not cover squat. If you are a seller they may freeze your account. Their platform has a ton of transactions each and every day so most of us aren’t going to have a problem but if they happen to snag onto your particular transaction or you file a claim and have to provide them details who knows 🤷‍♂️. Several years ago a business that sold only firearm training and a few accessories got dinged for violating PayPal policies and PayPal froze their account including all funds within the account for months.

FYI
Watch the second video to the end regarding zelle.
In any case, regardless of what service you use whether selling or buying, save all documentation regarding any transactions to hopefully avoid a 30% income tax liability.
If you sell an air rifle or any item for less than you bought it (and can prove it) you’re off the hook but you have the burden of proof.
Govt hates cash sales and bartering.

Yes, this is why a good reputation/feedbacks on AGN so I can use Friends and Family is important, I do NOT want to deal with IRS and keep all receipts.
