I was thinking about this today. I’ve often used the AGN search engines (old and new) to narrow down search results for threads concerning a particular platform. This takes a lot of time to sift through posts where the platform has simply been mentioned (sometimes in an offhand comment) and pertinent information on said platform. Consequently, I’d like to propose a “PCP Airgun” sub-forum where PCPs can at least be categorized by brand, categorizing them by model would be ideal, but that level of organization may require more work than it’s worth to staff.

This sort of organization would come in handy in locating tuning information, schematics, owners manuals, parts lists, as well as information on components, after market parts and accessories, modifications, custom builds, etc. I’m thinking of the way the “Parts, Schematics, and Diagrams” sub-forums were ordered on the old site’s layout. That was very convenient as was that sub-forum. I still miss that one.

How about you all? Do you think these sorts of sub-forums would be beneficial? If there cold be a specific ordering of sub forums to funnel information on particular brands or models how would organizing those sub-forums look in your mind?

Been thinking about starting a wiki. all we need is a really good template and over time it'll build itself out.

For each brand-
For each model -

  • Specs -Weight, length, trigger pull, magazine capacity, action, velocity with xyz ammo, materials used, air capacity, etc
  • Images
  • Release date/window it was available and MSRP
  • History/Relevant info
  • Schematics
  • Tear down and repair videos & tutorials
  • Known issues (include documented safety issues here)
  • FAQs
  • User generated submitted shot strings and target results (mandatory information when submitted, date it occurred, brand of ammo, grain weight, shape, PCP settings(tune), ?)
could also have pages on
  • Manufacturer history
  • Law
    • Ownership in various places.
    • Hunting.
  • Accessories
  • Safety
    • Hight Pressure
    • Shooting sports
    • Maintenance
  • Ammo, circumference and length submissions at various points in time if they changed their molds
  • Explainers for Airgun physics
  • Guides for cleaning, maintenance, etc
  • Explanation of different types of shooting
