PCP barrel storage

I got three barrels for my RTI and one for my Mutant, I found some old PVC pipe I think 1/2 inch and cut to the length of the barrels , Oh I had to clean the pipe out with wd40 and rages on string worked great, taped one end up wrote on pipe with marker as to the barrel dropped the barrel in and stuffed the other side with cotton balls, Works great barrels are protected and lubed up in the pipe....

PVC pipe is what I use. I glue a cap on one end and a threaded cap on the other. The threaded cap keeps everything safe and sound. I also shove a piece of foam or bubble wrap down to the end to protect the end of the barrel being stored. These are cheap and easy to use. You can get all different diameter pipe to suit your needs.

Cap, and threaded end, I new someone would come up with a better mouse trap. LOL
Now I got to go out and find me some caps and threaded ends..

Does WD40 affect the 2 breech O-rings at all?

WD is the worst, the residue left behind will gum up everything, I don't understand why it is thought as a lubricant and protector. Do what you want, I will never use it like that.

Don't use WD40 on anything metal that can corrode. A few years back a member was wiping down all his gun's with WD40 regularly before putting them in the safe and questioned why they were rusting. Several responses indicated that testing has shown that it is a corrosive.

Maybe wrap the barrel in kraft paper as well.

WD is Water Displacement #40, it's for loosening things up and displacing water, not a lubricant. It has its place A light coat of oil will protect from rust, I use Mobil One.

I use WD40 to clean, I then wipe it off, Works great getting glue off from stickers and cleaning pipes out , I did run a dry rag through it,
It will clean grease off anything ,
