I am shooting a taipan veteran 2 in .22 caliber. I only have 35 yards in my yard. I have shot my best 5 shot groups with unsorted h&n 23 grain slugs going 945 fps. Measuring one quarter inch center to center. Is this a case where all of the stars aligned and I got Lucky? Should I be able to do this often?

Taipans are noted for being accurate rifles. I would think the rifle is capable of repeating this as long as the person behind the trigger does their part.

The taipan veteran 2 in my experience, is a very capable pcp air gun. The first time I shot it, instantly regretted buying an fx maverick first.

I suggest trying some pellets in your Taipan. Look for something in the 25 grain weight. Here is a great thread on this very subject. Mine really likes the .25 JSB / FX / AA Kings. I tried all kind of slugs at 50 yards and beyond and the Kings always won. They are pellet rifles after all.

Some guns are fantastically great OOB (out of box) shooters & can do that all day long. You chose one of them as did I (FX Bobcat, Royale & Boss).
