PCP Insurance.

I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction with air rifle insurance in the event of being damage or stolen? Not really sure where to get it and if so have you exsperienced your air rifle being damaged or stolen and needing to have insurance cover the cost. Any feed back on personal experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Well I was looking into a more blanket policy, where as if the the gun I purchased didn’t live up to advertised specs or didn’t leak air after I cleaned it, or didn’t need a Huma reg to function, that I was more or less whittled down to a few brands. My insurance guru asked why we should insure guns that obviously were not ready for prime time released before they got into unsuspecting buyers hands after they shelled premium money. Well I responded that maybe their maybe wives were dominmatrixes and they’re a gluntens for punishment. But one guy said, hey let the manufactures screw you and you should sort the sh*t yourself. Brillant, scared of bad publicity. Guys this is what I’ve read on this forum in the last 3 months. Yeah fire and theft are covered by most major insurance company’s but how many guys are ready to try the Ed gun test ( where he runs over it with his 4 runner) just to get a bad memory out of their minds. I’m sure there be more in the weeks to come. Reminds me of that old soap my Mom used to watch when I was a kid, As the Worlds Turns. Funny how I’ve missed the episode where the Taipan owner bitched and moaned about his mistress. Oh yeah he might complain how she dresses but he knows that she’s got were it counts.🎯

When I shot trap I upped my insurance to cover my guns. They were stolen in a home invasion, no less. I then found that the additional insurance I bought capped at $3000.00. That didn't cover one gun let alone 3. I was informed I needed a "Rider" on my policy. Much like expensive jewelry, art, ect, ect. So that's what we had to do. With a different insurance carrier!!

Insurance is one of the most heavily regulated industries in this country. Do people get scammed? yes and no. Everything the insurance company can or will cover is clearly detailed in the contract, most people don't read them, so if you have any specific information in your policy, ask the Agent to show it to you. Most insurance companies have no clue as to what the value of Air Rifles are, so it is YOUR responsibility to tell them what they are, their value of them or replacement cost. The Premiums will be adjusted to include the additional cost of insuring the Risk of loss.

I used to sell Boat Insurance, you'd be surprised how many people blew up their motors and claimed they hit an ICE BAG on the lake, river or ocean. That street runs both direction.

Everything is insured the only thing that change is who is doing the insurance - You or the Insurance Company.

Check your home owners policy and ask for a Ryder, declare the value of whatever items you want covered and get a quote, make an informed decision from there.

The other issue you bring up is Warranty, which should be covered by the Manufacture.

I have a blanket policy for my firearms that does NOT require ser.#'s up front , it's $50,000.00 in coverage to include fire/theft/ loss/accidents/drop from tree, etc. Covers all guns, scopes and even ammo. Yes, some of us have thousands of $$$ in ammo alone. The policy is less than $200.0 per year.
