PCP Rifles for 100 Yards+

jiikuu, Yes, that's a very nice weapon. Unfortunately the price is way over my budget. I guess some people think $1000 is cheap. I'm looking for something between $500 and $750. I'm not wanting the kill anything, just target shoot at 100 yards. Not sure my Gauntlet can shoot 100 yards. I don't want to deal with having to make massive elevation adjustments on it because of drop off. Not sure how much drop off there is between 50 yards and 100 yards. Guess I could set a target out the next time at the range, and see if it can make the grade. I do know that I need a larger caliber rifle. The .177's I have don't do well past 25 yards, though the Hammerli did shoot fairly decently at 50 yards.
My Gauntlet .30sl and my Walther Reign .22 will both do 100yards with slugs( pellets?hmm, id say the Walther will do it with JSB 18.13gr, dont shoot pellets beyond 50yds in either and never in the G30SL)

i have a Huben K1 in .22 shooting the peanut slugs and i can put a full mag into a 2" size
ring at 100yrds with the zulus 5-20.
good enough for crows....... 🤘
My Walther Reign .22 will do 100yds at that 1.5"level and sometimes at 1" or less with 5 shot group..ive honestly shot it at past 250 yards(283yards) on a tin can and 2 vermin with 25 gr slugs( up to 16 foot holdover though, 15.5ft to be exact)..I do like to brag honestly to indicate fun possibilities with the pcp air rifles of today..getting a GK1 .22, I Know ill be shooting absurd ranges with it, but i do have decades of shooting experience with powder burners..

A quality PCP with some 33.95 pellets can shoot 100 pretty well.I won't name brands because everyone has their preference.
ive actually thought of getting the Air Venturi Avenger in .22, shot a buddies variation and i liked it, read, saw alot of videos about it..adjustable regulator, hs, light weight,accurate..yeah ive got my Walther reign but That up to 3k adjustable regulator and hs makes a big difference..my Walther reign is adjustable nothing( but accurate as hell in its bell curve)..The Huben k1 looks promising/ powerful (im getting its twin the gk1 v3 today, which has compatible parts with it) we'll see where it heads..but with bad vibes of whats coming in the next week, might need to focus on self reliance..

I've been shooting my rifles anywhere from 15 yards, out to 50 yards.

I use my DAISY AVANTI .177 for the 15 yard range, and generally hit the black of the 10 meter target size every time. I'm not that good. I get most of my groups to about 1/2 to 3/4 inch.

I use my Hammerli 850 Air Magnum .177 at 25 yards, and generally get the same results as the Avanti.

My third rifle is the Umarex Gauntlet .25 PCP. I've used this out to 50 yards, and again, pretty much get the same results as the previous two rifles, though, I get an occasional wandering pellet that fall outside the 10 meter target black. I guess that the wandering pellets are due to some kind of imperfections, as I see the pellet curving when this happens.

I'm quite interested in shooting out to 100 yards, but not sure there is a PCP air rifle that I can afford that can reliable shoot that far, and stay as accurate as my other three rifles.

I've read, and also watched videos of those who claim to shoot much farther than 100 yards, and do it fairly accurately, and consistently. I take that with a grain of salt.

But is there a PCP air rifle that fits what I am looking for. Please don't recommend a springer. I don't have the strength to cock those darn things. I'm female, and 71 years young. Don't have the brawn some of you guys have.

I found out I like single shot rifles like my Avainti. It slows me down, and makes me concentrate much more on getting each shot on target. Those multi shot rifles I have are wonderful, but they tend to make you forget to concentrate because you can squeeze off a shot more quickly.

I've looked at "Air Force" rifles, but not sure how good they are at the longer distances for serious target shooting. That is my type of shooting. I go to the local powder burner shooting range about once a month to shoot for a few hours. All those there are very nice and supportive about my shooting an air rifle.

Thanks in advance for your replies, and suggestions. CaleyAnn
Not knowing what "you can afford" I would recommend a Benjamin Marauder or other Benjamin long rifles (Cayden tube or Kratos or Gunnar bottle) The Marauder is the bench mark for accuracy in rifles in that price range. Parts accessibility and professional smithing are readily available if needed. Lots of customization also available.

I've decided not to pursue the purchase of another rifle for target shooting at 100 yards. I've had another commitment for my funds, so I will have to do what several have suggested, and work with my Gauntlet .25 rifle. From what I can determine, some have had fair success with the stock rifle at 80 yards. As my local public shooting range doesn't have anything to set a target up between 50 and 100 yards, I will just set out the two targets I mentioned before, at those distances, and give things a try.

I will also purchase a tin of heavier ammo when they become available. Seems .25 ammo is very popular, and currently not available. I still have about 150 Diablo Exact King .25 25.39 gr pellets which seem to work very well in my Gauntlet.
Be sure and check out Hajimoto for everything Gauntlet related. He is a great guy with which to do business and stands behind his products and work. https://hajimotoproductions.com/

Spend no money now. Instead borrow a PB .22 and a box of decent .22 target ammo and give great 100 yd. accuracy a go with that since you are already on a PB range. Longer ranges are challenging the lower the velocity and the lighter the projectile the more the challenge grows. We have a 12" plate at the back of our PB pistol range, I can hit it at will with my .22 PB...rested. My rangefinder says 33 meters. I'm on if it I hit it several times from a 10 round mag standing unsupported.

No environmental inputs so only useful at sea level presumably...
