Kalibrgun PCP Slug Gun- True effective range with slugs could be farther than we think.

Here's a paper target I shot at 300 yards with 5 - 5 shot groups on it. Conditions were very light wind.
This is the only target I shot to confirm that my slug-gun and slug were fairly consistent to at least 300 yards.

With a high BC 50gr. - .25 cal. slug I make and a custom slug gun I've posted about here on AGN , 300 yards isn't so far away.
2 groups were sub MOA, the other 3 groups were probably just shooter inconsistency. All were a bit high left, but fairly consistent.

This is what I consider the maximum effective range for this gun. Some light wind not really a problem at 300 yards.
This fragmenting slug still splits into 5 pieces at 320 yards, with acceptable consistent accuracy for Ground Squirrels. Just my opinion.
Sure it can shoot 500 - 600 yards and ring steel plates. But the wind will always make these yardages less than "truly effective ranges" to me.

These groups make it easy to see why I get bored shooting at an 8" ( 2 MOA) round steel plate at 420 yards, because I almost never miss it.

Sir, what model is your gun and could you please share the settings and modifications done.

Nice shooting! Impressive what everyone is doing with airguns these days. For me they are a 100 yard and in tool. Maybe I will venture further one day 🤷‍♂️
I was always shooting pellets at 100 about 7-8 years ago. Once I started shooting slugs, it was a lot more challenging to keep pushing the range.
I've been pleasantly surprised just how well this setup works actually. No more mod's. for this gun, just trigger time now.
Shot a couple sub MOA 100 yard groups yesterday. Just too close, no real challenge.
Turned to a 4" steel plate @ 300 yards in a lot of wind.
Still able to put 9 -10 out of 12 shots on the plate. A high BC slug is truly remarkable at that range in the wind.
