Seneca/Sam Yang peep sight for Seneca dragonfly MK II

it could work with either Williams sight
so, here is my thought without doing some measuring the combination will be close
because the mag is fairly tall in the Snowpeak breech that is a factor and how it works with the front sight is an unknown
would i do it just to try sure that is part of this hobby to the risk and get the one with the knobs
i could do a mockup tomorrow with some Snowpeak parts i have the sight, breeches and barrels

I never thought of those complications. I don't know what a Snowpeak breech is, but I never thought about how it would work in relationship to the front sight. The only peep I have is on my Benjamin 392 and those attach with a screw on the side of the breech and are designed to work with the factory front sight. I was hoping to find one made for the Dragonfly or at least find out that someone else had already installed one of the Williams sights and could verify if it works without changing the front sight.

i understand you want not to be the first to try
i like to have a rear sight that is adjusted in the middle somewhere, so you have plenty of elevation up or down
if you have to run it one way or the other you could trap yourself
only for you i made up a mockup of the rear sight from Williams on a righthand Snowpeak breech with a Chaser pistol barrel and a Chaser rifle barrel band mounted sight
the lowest the William sight dead center in the peep will go is 17mm whereas the barrel band sight is at only 13mm off the top of the breech
and that my friend is a problem because it is damn close and what will happen is it could shoot low
that's all i can do for you if your sight as adjusted now to 17mm it might work
i hope you can see my thinking on this

Thanks Mike. Your effort is appreciate, but I'd really like to see someone put that sight on the Seneca Dragonfly MK2 so see if it will really work. Maybe someone will see this thread that has already tried it. Those sights are too expensive ($82) to take a chance on.

I have a Williams peep on mine and it works perfectly. I just don't recall which model but I will post a photo later this morning.

I believe it is the FD-AG sight Bear-of-Grayling shows above but I am not sure because I have multiple Williams' Foolproof sights on various rifles. I have mounted several on air rifles and I think they all work if they have a base that fits an 11mm dovetail rail. My best guess is that this particular sight is the AV-B70809 w/5D-AG.
My backyard range only goes out to 26 yards and most of my shooting is at 10-15 yards so my sights are set low on the elevation adjustments. My guess is there is plenty of adjustment left to go out to much longer distances.

The deluxe sight is $83. The simple one is $45. They both have FREE RETURNS. Why not be a leader and try one. This is how this forum gains in knowledge. Through trial and error.

I see Airgun Depot has this same non-micro adjustable sight (top one) for $39.89 but possibly with shipping it might be the $45 of this Amazon one.

It would be truly exceptional if you can't make a Williams sight work.
Following up on marflow's notes and mockup, keep in mind that a peep sight does not change the gun's line-of-sight. If you're sighted in with the open rear sight, the aperture will work as long as you can line it up with that. The big magazine may cut off some of what you can see below the aim point - but no worse than is so for any "notch" type open sight. And if worse comes to worse, ditch the mag and shoot in single-shot mode.
To put it another way...take a ruler and get a rough dimension from the gun's mount rail, up to your current line-of-sight. Then one of us can easily confirm whether it falls in the Williams peep's adjustment range.

I have an older one which is made specifically for a 11mm dovetail, no slider like that one. I just wonder how well one of those would stay put on one of the high power springers.
