I removed the open rear sight from my HW50s and when looking down into the MT screw holes I see the barrel, I had assumed the barrel and breach block were machined from one piece of steel, I see now that's not the case, I see the seam between the breach block and barrel tube. My question is this, is it ok to leave these screw holes MT and open to the air that may allow moisture from humidity to get between the two or would it be better to close the screw holes in some fashion, like screws or some sort or plug material? I don't see myself reinstalling the rear sight but I still don't want to plug the holes permanently if that can be avoided.
