Tuning Peep'd HW50s

First I want to say thanks to Mike! He had offered up some spare front sight posts, and when I asked about one, was kind enough to mail it to me. For free! Very cool, and worked out perfectly!

I'd contemplated switching back to iron sights, but could not find a suitable way to make it happen.

Using Williams rear peep sights, the aperture is fairly open. But I like it very much. The gun is just as accurate; maybe even more accurate than when I had scopes on it! And sight picture is decently large with the more open aperture that is standard with this sight.

The gun is extremely light like this, and a ton of fun to shoot. Even with my eyes that are getting old, the peep sight is very easy to use. This is my first gun with decent peep sights, And I've been having a blast with it

I also had my HW 50 out today shooting spinners With it. Sometimes I don’t feel like pumping up my PCPs and just grab one of my pistols or my break barrels.

May I ask where these are sold & how installed? Drilled & tapped? Custom brake slip on? That would be great.

A milled Dovetail would suit also as I do prefer different posts for different distances and backgrounds as I get older. That's a nice plus on inserts. I find posts are best for fastest acquisition.

I ask because my B-Square will be sufficient with something like a period correct RWS 300 4x, (or a Trijicon 1-6 lol) small objective bell on this gal @11.5-12ftlbs

Refined irons would complement the drop and I've always wanted the best of both the 77K & TX200HC.

The 50 has always been a real pleasure. Not too much power, not too little. Super smooth, crisp, solid, and accurate. While also being lightweight  Also serves as a nice backup to my other guns. It served me well over the pandemic when my compressor failed, then dive tank developed a leak, meanwhile I could not source a barrel for my pumper the entire time as it had been re-purposed for a pcp.

The post was just a spare part that Mike had. It was a 4-40 thread, and I simply tapped the end of my moderator tube down into the end cap for it, and screwed the post on. The mod is a custom slip on unit that is internally braced to the barrel so it is effectively a cocking handle as well. The fit is so tight that no set screws are used except to keep the end cap on.

Otherwise I would have just used the factory sight or another that used the dovetail if not for the moderator.
