Pellet and Slug storage

I got tired of my pellets and airgun ammo sitting in the closet or on the floor, so I used some of my time off for Thanksgiving to put up a cabinet to store everything in. This is a plywood cabinet from Home Depot with one extra added shelf and 5mm steel dowel pins in place of the plastic shelf clips.

I also have 2x10 tins (that's 10000 shots), I don't think I need more before 2026, if even.

I have my pellets stored in their original tins, but contained in air-tight oil drums in the back yard. I keep a few tins open in the house, but most are stored away long-term. Pretty sure I'll have at least half of those pellets still around when I die.

Wow! I shoot about 1200 to 1800 pellets per week. I can barely "squirrel" away 2-3 extra tins.
Gotta give y'all credit....

Most of those tins are sorted by weight and headsize and lubed and sealed in tins using tape. I bought as many as 20-30 tins at a time to get same lot numbers, then did the weighing and headsize measuring.

Am new to air rifles. But I got a bunch of tins to see what kind of pellets my rifles liked, and some I got just because they looked cool.

I have my stuff in a couple of the Kitchen cabinets, i am very careful not overloading them. ( .22 and .177 pellets )

O BTW 13 and 16 grain slugs i keep on the 20 PCS boxes they come in from Zan,,,,, on my living room floor, in season they come and go fast.

Yeah this cabinet is all plywood construction, and I glued the joints when I assembled it and added some screws through those joints. There are 12 screws through the plywood back panel holding it to the wall studs. The shelves are 3/4” plywood so they shouldn’t deflect.

Except for when I take my son to the range, I shoot mostly just to kill pests. Rats and raccoons. I'll occasionally fire a few pellets to zero an optic. But that's about it.
