PELLET GAUGE .COM ANYONE??

HI GUYS ANY ONE USE THE PELLET GAUGE FROM PELLET GAUGE.COM AND IF SO DO YOU FEEL WHAT IS DOES IS WORTH IT FOR ACCURACY?

​I WOULD REALLY LIKE ONE OF THESE GAUGES AND WOULD LIKE TO HEAR BACK FROM YOU GUYS WHO USED THEM.

I hate that its the truth , but it did help.with my groups. Im Lazy as hell and hated using it , but results are hard to argue with .
Did it turn me into a force to be reckoned with ?? Hell no !!!
Did it cut down on the flyers that come outta nowhere ....ABSOLUTELY

using a pelletgage is indeed really boring, hate doing it too! I use it as well to get rid of flyers but it didn't have that much impact on the group sizes for me.

I started with math to see what are the numbers.. Not that I really put a value for my time spent with my hobby, but to get a grip of what kind of hobby this is...

I counted that if I gaged 180 in an hour and I valued my time doing this 13$ per hour, it would add 0,072$ more to each pellet.
With 360 pellet gages per hour it would be 0,036$ per pellet.


So gaging them does rise the price of them by much since approximate price for a pellet is 0,043$. (12,9 per 300 pellets)
After gaging they are worth from 0,08$ to 0,115$ each! So 21$ to 30$ per tin if the starting price is 12,9€

So basically, gaged pellets would cost over double more. And actually, the cheaper pellets you buy and gage, the more it multiples the price of them!


I would buy them no doubt, but I feel this should be the standard, which would lower the prices at least when thinking with mass-production philosophy.

Worth the money, absolutely! I'm a competition shooter and hand-pick (weigh and check head sizes) all my pellets and ammo before each match.

Yep, I use it. I couldn't imagine not having one. If one is interested in best accuracy, one has to have a way to determine the head size of their pellets (among other things). Don't rely on a tin saying that is this or that head size. Best case scenario, most are, but not all. And the ones that are not will affect accuracy. Worst case scenario, they're all over the map. 

It has absolutely increased my bench rest scores. Also, once you get the hang of using it, you can size lots of pellets in a short period of time.

i use air, no human interference, most accurate and its fast.. cost more... but its worth it!!

I ordered my 177 gauge 2 weeks ago. nvr had time to try it yet. so looking forward to it thou.
​I will be getting the 22 call soon I'm thinking after I try the 177

I tried it instantly.

I also shot a pellet skirt ahead accidentally and just gaged my "slugged" bore diameter with that pellet.

It looks like its 6,35.

Do you guys shoot best with 0.01 bigger head or should it be the same diameter as the bore?

I havent gaged/found yet but couple 6,35mm pellets. All are 6,36 and up from JSB tins.

I think the magic is that you only use minimal force with the gage. If I am unsure, I try to drop the pellet freely thru the hole and see if it goes.

The angle is everything and needs good ergonomics to find and keep it at 90 degrees.

yes only the head size is meant to be gauged. and the head is supposed to be be the part of the pellet to pop baack out again

i used my most accturate pellets a tin that has shot better than any other tin ive ever used in any air gun. I still got a half a tin left and when I sized them today. there were 4 head sizes in the tin. now that they are sized I cant even imangine how good they will be in my raw bm 500 177. there were truly impressive before they were sized.. this should get interesting now.
