Pellet quality control down the tubes!

Has anyone else noticed the state of pellets these days is on par with brands like gamo and daisy??
The majority of pellets (different manufacturers, different calibers, different weights) have Al been crap. Whether it’s bent skirt, damaged pellets, or weight discrepancies, there’s some real issues with them. Ive noticed my accuracy diminishing substantially, and I’m reserved about taking shots at pests past 30yds in worry that the pellet I’m shootings won’t hit its target.
Am I the only one having theee problems?
Has anyone notified them improving as of recent? I’m very skeptical about spending my money on ammo right now, bc I don’t want to be wasting it on crappy pellets. I’m very close to moving to the dark side and exclusively shoot slugs just for better consistency.

I've been having better luck with "cheap" pellets lately🤔

I'm a JSB junkie and shoot in both .22 & .177. In the last 6 months I've gone through about 15 tins and really haven't seen a drop off in quality. What brands are you shooting and where do you buy them?
Jsb mostly. 18gn and 25gn .22 cal recently. Both jsb and fx varieties have been just as bad. got them from Utah, local store, and AOA.

Be glad your getting pellets and not deeper in the shortage wishing you had pellets to shoot good or bad..

Im sure they still appreciate your business..
so Spending my hard earned money on pellets that aren’t really shootable is better than not having pellets at all? I tend to disagree!

Is this the quality that you are talking about. I culled this one out of a Tin the other day.

I am seeing bent skirts I guess but not really sure where to point the finger at. I doubt it is the manufacturing process QC. I think it is just packaging and shipment. Pellet skirts are really delicate and I can imagine they bend very easy. I’m to the point of ordering only small capacity tins. The 500 are just too loaded and the weight alone works against itself. Possibly ordering smaller quantities so there are less in the shipping box. With all that said I am currently on a tin of jsb 18.1 that has some ugly skirts in it. I would hardly say un shootable though. I was shooting 50 yards today 11 shot groups. They pretty much all tore one hole with 1 or 2 drifting maybe 1/2 “ outside the main hole. Def good for hunting. I was actually quite surprised. Mo Ron kind of has a point. Unless you have a stock pile right now we have to buy or not shoot.

Guess stocking up when I found a batch that looked good (well, actually not as bad) and weight sorting and head sizing got me quite a supply. I tend to buy mostly from my local shop and where ever he gets his stock, it is better than most online sources. But I must say that JSB quality sure has slipped (or perhaps the tolerances got broader). Their weights are way off as well as head size. H&N is way better quality for now and many of my guns do ok with them.

Yup a pretty good ways... Im not here crying over a pellet.
Crying? No. Only over spilled milk.
Just wondering if anyone else is having similar issues. Too much to ask on an open forum?
Sorry my money doesn’t grow on trees. Spending it on something that the quality should be better on is of importance. I’m guessing you would comment the same if it was quality control on a $2k rifle I was asking about? Money is money though isn’t it?

And to elaborate guys, the packaging on these pellets was impeccable. The tins weren’t dented at all. It was all in the contents. I’ve never seen this in a tin of jsb pellets before. Which is why I buy jsb pellets, but when buying a sleeve at a time, if every tin is full of crap pellets, that’s a lot of money down the drain!

Oh man yea that's not good. What all brands have you tried? I am still finding brands I've never got to use🤷‍♂️ recently for plinking/target pellets my go to's have been:

Excite
Norma
Daisy

For the pricey-er pellets my go to's have been:

H&N
RWS
Crosman (the lead free sabot)

Maybe try some cheapies and see what you think?🤷‍♂️🎩🤟don't worry about stuff too much; none of us get out of this life alive🤪🤙

Yes. Things are not what they once were in pellet land. Recently spent nights chasing a guns settings around only to finally realize it was a pellet issue. Some tins of the good stuff are acting just like Walmart Crosmans. Demand and hoarding finally biting us in the butt. Yes we can get them but look at what they’ve become.

I just got a tin of JSB .22 18 grain, and I would say 20-30% of the pellets all have deformed skirts. And they are not just a little bit deformed, and then I open a tin of CPHP $6.43 at Walmart and every pellet is in good shape. Guess for the time I’ll have to stick with Crosman
