I would suggest you use whichever pellet(s) your rifle shoots with the highest degree of accuracy. All the "whizz-bang" tech and hype doesn't mean diddly squat if the projectile misses,or simply wounds your quarry.
Looking at hunting ground squirrels, quail , and pigeons. Possibly rats and mice if I am able to acquire a ir scope. (Only ninja mice and rats are left around my house. Multiple Trap types get cleaned and catch nothing.)
jsb king heavies. 33.95 gr. seem to be an overall favorite. the hades were a bust in my wildcat for much over 60 yards. but like others said, u need to find what works for you and your gun.
Any one cast pellets that are good for hunting from mrod 25. I have experience casting and reloading for firearms. So all I will need is a good mold recommendation. Would prefer to not have to swage every pellet. But if that is necessary are there any die set ups that fit in a Lyman lube and sizer. Any recipes for lube in the grooves or should pellets be run through the sizer dry?
Until December I used Predator Polymags for hunting with my .25 (Royale 500) UNTIL I got my first order of JSB Hades! My Royale loves 'em. Not a single pass-through in 6 months from ranges of 30-100 yards +. They dump all their energy into whatever prey I'm shooting. The accuracy has been the BEST of any pellets I've tried too! That just blows me away. Your "mileage" may vary but at least give them a try. Shoot me a PM & I'll send you some to try out.
P.S. If you get Polymags & they don't fit your magazine you can clip the tips with nail clippers or dog toenail clippers so they'll fit. It WON'T change the accuracy of the pellets. Been doing it for a couple years & it WORKS!
Agreed that the Hades seem to do well in the 25. I close second are the H&N 24.47 hollow-points, they run real well in my Wildcat ST barrel with many shoots around 75 yards.
