PELLET RIFLE CALIBER

I have tried a few tins of cheap pellets and found they are very inaccurate in my pcp. I see people get into the sport and buy numerous tins only to find their gun doesn’t like them. Maybe springers are different but for me JSB pellet's just work and save me the frustration of not being able to hit what you want. I was lucky and only bought a few tins of cheap pellets.

I have good luck with pellet shipments when they are packed well. Pyramid Air has always packed well. Amazon generally just throws the tins in a lightly padded envelope but I usually still get OK pellets. I don't love the added cost but I find it most important to have accurate ammo.

I have tins of Crosman and Gamo pellets that shoot so poorly that they are worthless. They were inexpensive but not really if you consider their value. I prefer to spend a little more and get pellets that go where I'm aiming.

Here's a 10 shot group at 25y with Crossman HP pellets from a Gamo Urban. The CPHPs are the only ones I've had good luck with and they have taken many pests without issues . Can't blame the pellets if your airguns don't shoot them . Several of mine like them .

I realize some airguns shoot some tins of Crosman pellets pretty well. My Prod does. But it shoots copper plated H&N FTTs consistently better. I also worry about getting "garbage" tins like I got on 177s.

I know Crosman calls the ones with a hole on the end hollow points but that implies they expand. That is not true at the 750fps my Prod shoots them. They shoot and perform on game the same as the domed. In other words OK, just not the best. But the price is good and sometimes you can find them locally.

Yes the price is good and you can purchase them in stores . Never said they were the most accurate in my airguns but they work fine .

Here's some target pics . The last target shows the.177 CPHPs grouping better than the H&N FTTs . I've never had a garbage tin yet out of several thousand rounds . My Prod, pp700 , Urban , hw30 , hw95 , Maverick and Taipans all shoot them well . I don't get great groups at 50y with them but they lay out squirrels without issue . Some members use them exclusively. I prefer JSBs, JTS and AEA pellets for the best accuracy and Hades or polymags for better expansion. If your airgun likes them they are a bargain . https://www.airgunnation.com/threads/crosman-pellets.1322312/page-2

I made the mistake of ordering 2 Tins of JSB .22 pellets from Amazon. They came in an oversized box with no stuffing, Just loose in the box. 30 % of the skirts are deformed. I ordered 4 tins of H & N pellets from Ebay, They came taped together wrapped in bubble wrap and the box stuffed with packing. Bill

My 2 cents that's not already stated . In my travels before retiring ,I found few "box stores" w/ anything other than Crosman & Gamo, which I don't use. Sportsman's
Warehouse has Norma . I agree w/ finding what works for the task at hand & buying where you find it/them. S W H is the only local box store for me , still 40
miles for me.I do have some dealers in PA a few hrs from me , but I still purchase most online either from them or Pyramyd Air, then place an order quantity that gives me at least one free item.
