How tight is too tight while loading my Springers and NP's? I have some pellets that drop in easily, but others are very tight. If the fit is too tight, then don't force it? I don't, but I was curious as to what you all do.

50 years ago i bought a Webley Tempest and if i sent the gun to England they would make a pellet skirt tool matched to the barrel . don't know what happened to that tool but wish i had it now . kind of a C clamp affair would not be to hard to make.

Pending the rifle .... ( For test discount accuracy ) see what fit in a pellet gives the lowest ES value shot to shot.

A long time competitive springer shooter told me if a pellet is hard to push in with a finger it is roo tight. For what its worth.

As I tend to shoot pellets that are hard, on a lot of my guns I've opened the leade a bit with sandpaper-on-a-stick. Usually I use an 150 grit followed by something finer, like 800.
Sand a little, in and out, in and out at about the depth of a pellet, rotating the barrel area and the stick so that no spot gets all the sanding,
clean with an oily patch run through from the _barrel_ end,
test fit the offending pellet and,
repeat until it fits.
So far it has only helped accuracy.
