Pellet shapes for certain reasons...

I've been trying to organize my pellets by USE....as well as caliber and quantity, etc...
Which has pretty much led me to sorting them by shape.
From my experience I've got my .177 "plinking" and "pesting" pellets
Then for .22 I've got "target" and "hunting"....
I have to label them a bit differently or my brain misfires🥴
So by shape:
Wadcutters for close range are devastating
domes give me more range
...
It's all of the other shapes that I'm stuck on bc I've only tested a small percentage vs wads/domes
Pointed seem to be great all around
But then there are hollow points, slugs, bb tips, poly tips, round ball, etc🤣
I'm not really shooting past 80 yards or so.
Just wanting to figure out better ideas of what the max effective range is based on shapes.*how the Hades seem to be horrible after 30 yards but insanely great when under 30 yards
I've researched quite a bit, mainly looking for real world input vs Google says so.

Fishing lures are designed to catch fishermen. Some actually work. The rest look nice in your tackle box. ;)

I like some just bc they look cool: yes🤣
So what's your picks for top shapes?
Wad cutters are fantastic in guns that shoot under 600 fps and I WISH I could get them in .25 for my BSA Lightning. Never have had any luck with pointed pellets or anything that isn't domed above about 850 fps so I stick with them for about all my shooting. That's just me though. I was joking regarding the usefulness of all the various kinds of pellets. Slugs are a different ball of wax all together.

Nice! 🤣no worries, I can take a joke🤪🤙
My favorite pointed so far is the ruger superpoints. But for less $ I can get the Excite spikes and they work just as good.
I gotta get more/different slugs to try

Here let me help you, they go fast, they poke holes in paper, the same ones that poke holes in paper will poke holes in soft critters. IF they poke holes in a group at your desired distance then .... WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?

Nothing, after this: I'm focusing on what my slingers like...not my eyes😵‍💫🤪🤙
