Pellet Trap

I really appreciate all the replies on the pellet traps for sure.
I was really looking for more specific information on the Sig Sauer Quad metal target trap.
PLEASE see the first post. If you have any experience with this specific trap, please let me know how you like it and maybe answer some of the questions from the first post.
Thanks to all that have posted so far.

I see no reason the target trap you named, wouldn’t hold up for quite some time. I’ve considered buying the same one. Just haven’t wanted to spend the money on one yet.

Happy Plinking!

"Just haven’t wanted to spend the money on one yet." ...

Lol...

And I thought I was the only one who faces that dilemma..lol
Well I do spend my fair share lol. But this year has just been expensive overall. So although I could easily buy it. I can’t, because I know there are other things I need or want more right now. And honestly I think many are feeling the pinch in the wallet more the last few years.

If that makes any sense lol

I don't understand. Past 3-1/2 years I'm told you never had it soooo good. No lie .. it's true😎

I successfully used a mulch trap for a couple of years but they are a pain to reclaim your lead, if you are so inclined to do? I even made a hardware cloth sifter but it’s still difficult to separate it from the fine rubber chunks. The bullet trap above is very easy and clean to reclaim lead which I do regularly. Yes, shipping is costly but IME well worth it. This thing is built like brick sxxxhouse.

Had something similar, same design and looks like the same gauge of steel.

It worked fine for low power air guns (Co2 pistols) but did not hold up well with rifles in the 12 FPE and higher power range.
It is also rather noisy.

Well said sig make the auto BBQ guns that are at about 400 fps so if imagine that trap is built min to kinda hold up to that and for there guns .

Here under me I don't see it lasting a 500 count tin of pellets .. ( opinion)

You buy you try and you hope it don't make you cry . They know your not walking in a shop and see and get a feel of it first . You buy blindly online ..

Then what I say is good , he says it's good then some dude off the street says it's good you buy it and find it's nothing but a hunk o junk .. lol. What's good for them may not be for you .

Of course. Buy it use it come back and do a write up on it here..

P.s.. why we trailed off to more homemade ? Cause we already seen that don't work out and our own homemade ones last a good long time ..lol

I think before you start shooting at that metal trap in the basement, you had better check with your wife or your mother. It will be very noisy. My trap, on the other hand, is noise free.

My steel trap is noisy and dusty. I'd never shoot it in the house.

Duct-seal traps are perfect for indoors.

Pellets impacting steel will add to the Lead in your basement. Appreciate the poster with the water idea to recycle the pellets from the trap, good thinkin!
Did not really consider the Lead, the soft and quiet pellet traps are helpful in this respect. PB ranges often have a water curtain setup where the bullets impact to hold down the airborne Lead.
