FX Pellet weight for a 35/50 meter shooting competition

Hi,

This will be my first time taking part in a shooting competition, which is at a distance of 35 (sitting) and 50 meters (bench rest). I have an FX DRS .177 using H&N Baracuda 10.65gr pellets shooting at 830 fps apprx. This set up is pretty accurate at 20 meters (only distance available to me). Will it be useable for the 50 meter competition, or do I need to change anything here? Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

I have yet to see a case where my rifle dialed in for one distance ( often very long in my case ) but that same tune not working on any shorter range too.
Mind you i am mainly shooting slugs, but i do also shoot pellets now and then, but then the long range for me is 75 - 100 M and that is not very accurate.
But 55 M and anything shorter i often shoot with a high degree of accuracy, i just can not shoot closer than 25 M or so as that is the minimum focus distance of the scope i use.

I prefer the 10.43 gr JSB heavy and 10.40 gr JTS domed pellets,,,,,,,, well for the lighter weights at least.
Remind me i need to order 10 or so tins of pellets so i am ready for this summer.

I think the HN are a good call. Since you have them, and they work well, I would certainly use them to set a benchmark. Wring those out, and then maybe try another 10.x pellet like the JSB. I shoot 40 yards for silhouette, and 10.5 crosman and 10.3 JSB work well. I have flat head 8.1 match pellets, and those sail in the wind. Have fun.
