Pelletgage came yesterday. 5 shot groups . WOW !

Pulled a tin of h&n baracuda match pellets out of the drawer , my R10 didn't seem to like them.
Tin said they were 5.53 mm sized them in the pelletgage and most were 5.55 mm but tin ranged from 5.53 to 5.56 . Shot 4, 5 shot groups and it turns out my R10 really likes the 5.54 mm pellets. WOW !!

Yep, that is what I found out also. Who knew? All you need to do to get one of these guns to shoot is get the right head size on your pellets.

It certainly works by sorting pellets if you like extreme accuracy! Fantastic 30 yard group! I add weighing them to my sorting process. A lot of shooters may think this is a waste of time but proof is in the picture!

I am with AJ, I weigh using a 0.10 mean and then use the pelletgage to head size. I think its a must if your serious about shooting ranges past 25yds. Rgerling, congratulations. Once you find the head size your barrel likes, it's a whole new game. Now see what speed it shoots them the most accurate at, and you'll bump up another accuracy notch. Enjoy the new level of accuracy!!

What would you think of making this a thread for pictures of groups after using pelletgage?

I would like to see what kind of changes others are seeing after using it and it would be neat to have them in the same thread.

Very nice grouping. It is fun when you suddenly get that eureka moment.

I’m still not sure re the weighing thing. I’ve just come in from a testing session.

Pellets are JSB 18.13gn, washed and lubricated. All pellets have been through a TR Robb re-seizer, set at 5.49mm head size. The skirt is left a few thou larger, but does get trued by the process. I weighed using a lab scale that is way more sensitive than needed for this job.

The rifle is an FX Impact. Velocity is 902.5fps, ES 8.21fps and an SD of 3fps. The barrel was not cleaned between groups. The regulator is set at 110bar and bottle pressure was kept above 150 bar at all times

I fired 4 groups of at least 5 rounds with 18.0, 18.1, 18.2, and 18.3gn pellets I then fired two pellets from each weight group onto a fresh single target at 50yds.

Below are the results. I think testing at longer range might reveal an advantage, but for 50yds or less, I’m struggling to see one.
