Pellets and Hybrid Slugs FX Maverick VP - jammed in barrel

Hi I am a new owner of fx maverick vp - out of the box it has been firing FX pellets (0.22 16 grain) very well at 40 yards. When using Fx Hybrid slugs (0.22 22 grain) - I got a couple stuck in the barrel and they were a bugger to get out. Is there something I need to do differently when shooting the hybrid slugs? eg more power on rear dial/rotate barrel etc?

Thanks for any help.

You need to let us know a bit more about your setup. What reg pressure and what hammer wheel setting were you using. You say that you got “a couple” stuck in the barrel 😳. This implies that you kept loading even though you hadn’t fired a shot. Did you by chance double load a couple f hybrids and then shoot the gun at a low setting? That could certainly cause a jam.

Thanks for getting back to me - hammer at 4 and rear reg at 100 bar. Maybe it was a double load by accident that cause the jam - good call. Will keep in mind. Should I up the hammer pressure or something else? Big thanks.
To be honest, that should be enough reg pressure and hammer to fire the Hybrids, so I suspect a double load. Its easy to do, just don’t ask how I know 😂

However, I have found the Hybrid slugs like a faster pace than the pellets, so i would suggest that you try a higher power wheel setting (5, 6, 7) when using the slugs compared to regular pellets.

Were you Trying to get the stuck slugs out of muzzle end or breach end, thanks to the choke it’s a bugger trying to push through the muzzle end. Ask me how I know.🥲

Just use a cheap wooden stick and tap the slugs back out of the breach, should come out with some gentle taps. And what @ChRiSiS said, double feed is pretty easy to do.

I tried both ways - and found breech back was easier.... duh. Also - after taking out barrel, I saw the s/p on each side of the breech end. do I need to turn to s for hybrids or is p ok? Theres not much online about this.

Yes, use the slug TP to get better speed. The pellet port is for someone wants to fine tune for extreme low ES and SD with the TP size.
