Performance of NSA 17.5 gr. .22 slugs at 900 fps.

Great expansion and wound channel.

.2165's. In my experience, the smaller diameter works better in choked pellet barrels. Not sure how much of that is because of the choke deforming the slug or how much is from the slug losing velocity from the choke friction.

On my Priest, the .217 20.2's didn't do well. I may see if a slightly higher reg pressure yields more velocity and accuracy but right now I'm pretty happy with the .2165 17.5 gr. performance.

P.S. I was shooting the 18.1 JSB's and NSA's side by side in a stiff variable breeze. You really see the advantage of slugs in those conditions.

Nice. I had a priest 2 and sold it in anticipation of the prophet as in prefer the side lever. A mistake as Rti sells an aftermarket side lever now for the priest line now 😒. With this virus the prophet was delayed and I sold both my 25 cals in preparation. Big bust there.

You probably don't recall but we PM'd back and forth about the Priest2 earlier. I have both a Priest (with .177 and .22 barrels) and a Priest2 in .25. I'm waiting on a warranty adjustable reg replacement on the Priest2 and currently running it with a non-adjustable reg set to 2,200 psi. I was close to getting rid of the Priest until I found out it did well with the 17.5 slugs and CARM made a magazine for it. I'm going to 3D print a buttpad for it, to improve improve my cheek weld and length of pull. I already replaced the alloy bottle on the Priest with a CF bottle. The only thing that still bugs me on both Priests is their tendency to ring after a shot. It varies from shot to shot and I'm not sure if a depinger would help.

BTW, the sidelever upgrade and "long range" slug barrel are both available for the Priest now, in the EU. I talked to Rob, at RTI, and he said he expects AOA, their US dealer to have both in stock within a month or two.
