Thank you @YoYea those 177 Crosman Copperhead 7.9gr pointeds were like old Premiers in the brown boxes accurate to 55 yards.
The P17 should outgroup a standard Crosman (NON Lothar Walther) on paper they are that accurate and only the LW custom shop or 2300s or 1701P will outgroup it. There's nothing under $130 that can beat it's accuracy maybe a $69.99 Gamo IGT P900 but that's full plastic like a young kids toy I have 2 and they actually do group 0.20" and better at 10 yards from a good steady pistol rest. I can plink water bottle caps at 20 yards with them. The P17 is the same but easier to shoot without the movement. Bear in mind it's kinda hard to close the lever on the down stroke so a youngster may not be able to cock it without adult help.
If you can find a used Daisy 747 that pistol is super easy to cock and shoot all day long kind of slowish on power spaced at 360fps but perfect for plinking and enough to kill a rat or sparrow head shot out to 15 yards.
I would copy Hapo who did a Crosman custom shop co2 LW barrel pistol for $135 and have each of their names engraved for free.
I was unaware of the Gamo IGT P900.
I have 2240 on order. Any suggestions for modifications or starting out?
