Picatinny under-rail to UIT conversion

A couple years ago I was needing to get from a pic under-rail to a UIT/Anschutz and couldn't find anything commercially available. I could find purchasable options going from a UIT slot under a gun to a pic, but not the other way around.

And this is relevant to field target because of hamsters/knee risers.

I recently saw another ft shooter with the same problem (might have been @drsquall?)

Here is what I eventually figured out.....
Start with this to be able to clamp to the under-rail pic on the gun...

Remove the male picatinny from the contraption in the link above (it's just screwed on).

Then you'll need a block of wood or delrin. I had a black chunk from a different project.

I then drilled and tapped threads to allow the attachment of a UIT female rail, as well as a section of male picatinny. Drilling and tapping delrin is easy enough to do with screws, just clean out the tailings periodically as you go. With wood it'd be even more simple, just screw it together.

The end result provides the ability to use a hamster in the Anschutz/UIT under-rail, or a bipod further out front than the one on the gun, via the added pic rail.

Modify to suit your desires and needs.

This is the end result....

It's not perfect, the screws for the UIT could stand to be shortened.

But it does very effectively allow the use of a knee riser or a bipod, as well as making no permanent changes to the gun...don't want it on there anymore, just remove it with the pic clamp (link above).

Thought I'd share in case it can help anybody wanting to use a UIT knee riser on a gun with under mounted pic rail.

Now to find a UIT rail and a hamster.

Seems like I remember a cheaper option from champions choice website at one point.

You might try a wtb for an older RAW or MAC1 knee riser also.

The little section of UIT that I used for my contraption was a cutoff from a longer section. The other 3/4 of that rail went into the forend of my Veteran Short, the last little section got used here.

And that came from Tim at MAC1....I guess I'm saying that the 7.25" he sells is likely longer than you need, or at least PLENTY.
Ok I have a chop saw. Lol
